Gangnam Station (강남역) is the busiest subway station in South Korea, handling upwards of 190,000–200,000 passengers daily across Metro Line 2 and the Shinbundang Line. Situated at the heart of Gangnam-gu, the station anchors one of Seoul's most commercially and medically significant districts — a world apart from the tourist-centric energy of Myeongdong or the nightlife buzz of Hongdae.

Two distinct traveller profiles dominate Gangnam's locker demand. First, business travellers transiting through Teheran-ro — Seoul's equivalent of Silicon Valley — who need to store a carry-on between back-to-back meetings. Second, medical tourists visiting Gangnam's internationally renowned cosmetic surgery and dermatology clinics, who often need a secure place to leave luggage before or after an appointment when checking into a hotel isn't yet possible.

The underground dimension of Gangnam Station is worth noting: the Gangnam Station Underground Shopping Center is one of Seoul's largest subterranean retail complexes, stretching in multiple directions from the station exits. Navigating it with heavy bags is exhausting — a station locker makes it genuinely enjoyable instead.

Note that Gangnam Station is served by Line 2 and the Shinbundang Line only — there is no direct Airport Railroad Express (AREX) connection. For Incheon Airport, the airport limousine bus (routes 6009, 6020, and others) from Gangnam-daero near Exit 12 is the standard option. Rush-hour traffic can significantly affect journey times, so factor in extra time on weekday evenings.
