Incheon Airport Has Almost No Coin Lockers

This surprises travellers arriving from Japan, where every terminal has walls of lockers. Incheon works differently: instead of self-service lockers it runs staffed storage and luggage delivery counters, operated by Hanjin and listed on the airport's own site — Terminal 1 on the 3rd floor, opposite check-in counter B, and Terminal 2 on the 3rd floor, opposite counter H.

Those same counters will send your bags to a Seoul hotel or to a subway station, and back to the airport on your departure day. For a full-size suitcase that is usually the practical answer at Incheon, not a locker.

The Incheon terminal stations are on the AREX airport line, which sits outside the Seoul Metropolitan Subway open data we use — so they appear above as “no data” rather than as a count. We would rather show nothing than show a wrong number.

Gimpo Airport Station Lockers

Gimpo is on Seoul Metro Lines 5 and 9, so its lockers are in our live feed. They sit on basement level 2, beside the moving walkway toward the domestic terminal. There is also a staffed T-Luggage point on B1 near the Line 5 gates on the international side, which takes bags too large for a locker.

Gimpo handles domestic flights plus short-haul international routes to Tokyo Haneda, Osaka, Taipei and Shanghai — so a locker here is often all you need for a few hours between flights.

Store Before You Head to the Airport

The AREX line runs from Seoul Station to both Incheon terminals — about 43 minutes to Terminal 1 on the express, 51 to Terminal 2. Every station below is on that route or close to it, and all of them have lockers in our live feed.

Large lockers are the bottleneck. Across these stations the small sizes are usually free, while large units — the ones that fit a checked suitcase — are often all taken. If you are travelling with a big case, check the live count before you commit to a station.

Alternatives

Staffed counters take items of any size and are listed above. Beyond that, two options work well on the way to a flight.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Are there coin lockers at Incheon Airport?
Incheon Airport has very few self-service coin lockers compared with Japanese airports. What it does have is staffed baggage storage and a luggage delivery counter run by Hanjin: Terminal 1 on the 3rd floor opposite check-in counter B, and Terminal 2 on the 3rd floor opposite counter H. Those counters also send bags to and from Seoul hotels and subway stations on the same day.
Does LuggageSnap show live locker counts at Incheon Airport?
No. The Seoul Metropolitan Subway open data we use covers subway stations, and the AREX airport line is outside it, so the Incheon terminal stations show as “no data” rather than a count. Gimpo Airport Station is on Line 5 and 9, so its lockers are in the live feed.
Where are the lockers at Gimpo Airport Station?
On basement level 2, beside the moving walkway toward the domestic terminal. There is also a staffed T-Luggage storage point on B1, near the Line 5 gates on the international side. Live counts for the automated lockers are shown above.
Can I store my bag in the city instead, on the way to the airport?
Yes, and it is often the better plan. Seoul Station, Hongik Univ. (Hongdae), Gongdeok and Digital Media City are all AREX stops with lockers, and Seoul Station, Hongdae and Myeongdong also have staffed storage counters on B1. Large lockers are the first to go, so check live counts before you travel.
What if there is no large locker free?
Large (L) lockers are scarce at the city AREX stops — Hongdae often shows none free at all. If you are carrying a full-size suitcase, a same-day delivery service between your hotel and the airport is usually faster than hunting for a locker, and partner storage spots take items of any size.
How long does AREX take to Incheon Airport?
The AREX Express from Seoul Station reaches Terminal 1 in about 43 minutes and Terminal 2 in about 51 minutes. The all-stop service takes longer but stops at Hongik Univ., Gongdeok and Digital Media City, which is useful if you want to store or collect a bag on the way.
